IRIS MURDOCH BUILDING

STIRLING UNIVERSITY

The Iris Murdoch Building houses the Dementia Services Development Centre at the University of Stirling. It combines with the Colin Bell Building housing the Department of Applied Social Science to act as an end stop to the sinuous Cottrell Building. Its form demonstrates good practice in Design for Dementia in Public Buildings - minimising confusion, maximising transparency, aiding identification, reducing reliance on memory and providing as many memory triggers as possible.
